- This materials set is the core of the Level 1 math program. It contains the student and teacher materials needed to effectively teach Level 1.
- The Teacher’s Manual is non-consumable. However, if you are using Level 1 with more than one student, you will need an additional Student Packet for each additional student.

Please note that the level numbers on our books do not refer to grade levels. Our lessons are mastery-based, not grade-level-based. This means that students are placed according to their current ability rather than their age or grade level. The book may be labeled "Level 1," but this is not meant to indicate that it is appropriate for all first graders. Many children may begin the program when they are five, while others may begin when they are older.

Level 1 has 60 lessons. Please know that the lessons in All About Math are not meant to be completed in one day.
In fact, some lessons may take more than a week to finish. A number of variables contribute to how quickly a lesson can be completed, including your student’s age, attention span, prior experience, and the difficulty of the concept being taught.
For a complete overview of how to prepare to teach All About Math Level 1, see the detailed "Preparing for Level 1" information on pages 7-31 of your Teacher's Manual or watch the Level 1 Preparing to Teach All About Math videos.
If you are teaching more than one student at a time, you will need to order an additional Student Packet for each additional student. The Level 1 Materials contain enough for teaching one student.
If you will be reusing your Level 1 Materials for future students, you can reuse Brinda’s Math Tools and simply purchase another Hop into Math Activity Book.

No. One kit will be enough for 2 or 3 children working at the same time, and more than enough if the children are working on math separately.
While you may be able to substitute other manipulatives at times, our manipulatives were carefully chosen to make specific concepts clear. You may have to make your own adaptations to lessons to use different manipulatives, and that may cause some lessons to be less effective.
