Here are some more ideas for incorporating spelling rules into your teaching:<\/p>\r\n\r\n<ul>\r\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Silent E:<\/span> When your student knows <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.allaboutlearningpress.com\/silent-e\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"italic\">all<\/span> the jobs of silent E<\/a>, spelling is much easier.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Open and Closed Syllables:<\/span> Knowing <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.allaboutlearningpress.com\/open-and-closed-syllables\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">these two syllable types<\/a> will enable your student to accurately spell hundreds of words.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Making Words Plural:<\/span> Unravel the mysteries of making words plural with <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.allaboutlearningpress.com\/making-words-plural\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">six scoops of ice cream<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Floss Rule:<\/span> <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.allaboutlearningpress.com\/floss-rule\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">This simple spelling rule<\/a> helps kids remember when to use a double consonant at the end of a word.<\/li>\r\n\r\n<li><span class=\"bold\">Avoid false spelling \u201crules\u201d:<\/span> \u201cFalse rules\u201d can lead to spelling confusion! This is where visual spelling strategies come in. Does the word look right? Good spellers often try spelling a word several ways to see which way looks correct.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>This is why we use word banks in the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allaboutlearningpress.com\/all-about-spelling\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"italic\">All About Spelling<\/span> program<\/a>.
