If you’re always on the lookout for ways to make practicing reading more fun for your children, then you’re going to love our new “Go Dance!” activity! This free printable Thanksgiving activity is perfect for getting in the holiday spirit, but we think these dancing turkeys are so cute that you’ll want to enjoy them all year long.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\"Download<\/a>\r\n\r\n

These hilarious dancing turkeys are ready to add some fun to review time. \u201cGo Dance!\u201d is played just like the popular \u201cGo Fish\u201d card game, and we\u2019ve included words from Levels 1-4 of All About Reading<\/cite><\/a> so everyone can play!<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Ready? Let's get started!<\/p>\r\n\r\n

Preparing the \u201cGo Dance!\u201d Activity<\/h2>\r\n\r\n
    \r\n
  1. Download the \u201cGo Dance\" Activity<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n\r\n
  2. You will need two to four players for this activity.<\/li>\r\n\r\n
  3. Print the pages back-to-back and cut out the turkey cards, following the instructions in the activity download.<\/li>\r\n\r\n
  4. Deal five cards to each player face down. Place the remaining cards in the draw pile face down.<\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n\r\n

    Play \u201cGo Dance!\u201d<\/h2>\r\n\r\n

    The goal of the game is to make the most sets of matching cards. Each player should now look at the cards they were dealt but should not reveal them to the other players.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    The dealer goes first and may lay down any matching sets he already has. <\/p>\r\n\r\n

    He may then ask any other player for a specific card so as to make another matching set. For example, if the player has the prance<\/em> card in his hand, he may say, \u201cAmy, do you have a prance<\/em> card?\u201d<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"A\r\n\r\n

    If Amy has a prance<\/em> card, she must hand it to the player who asked for it. That player then sets down the matching set of cards and gets to go again.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"Game\r\n\r\n

    This time the player asks Aiden if he has a shake<\/em> card. Aiden does not have a shake<\/em> card, so he tells the player to \u201cGo Dance!\u201d The player who asked for the card must then draw a card from the draw pile.<\/p>\r\n\r\n

    If he happens to draw a matching shake<\/em> card, he may place the new match on the table, but his turn is over. Play passes to the next player on the left.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\"A\r\n\r\n

    Play continues like this until all of the cards in the deck and in the hands of all players have been matched. Players then count their matching sets. Whoever has the most matches wins!<\/p>\r\n\r\n
