10 Things That Do Not<\/span> Work<\/h2>\r\n\r\n
    \r\n

  1. Relying on time wasters and page fillers<\/h3> \r\n

    Workbooks filled with activities like writing the spelling words X number of times without explaining the concepts and spelling patterns waste valuable teaching and learning time.<\/p><\/li>\r\n\r\n

  2. Teaching \u201crules\u201d that aren\u2019t true<\/h3> \r\n

    For example, many kids are taught that \u201cwhen two vowels go walking, the first does the talking<\/a>.\u201d But did you know there are actually more words that don't<\/span> follow this \u201crule\u201d than words that do?<\/p><\/li>\r\n \r\n
